Here are the broad categories of what all you can get at Eagle Leather when it comes to motorcycle luggage and how it can be used.
Broadly, there are two categories of motorcycle luggage. One is softshell motorcycle luggage, and another is hard-shell motorcycle luggage. Let's go through each category at a time.
Softshell motorcycle luggage
Saddlebags are the most commonly used motorcycle luggage. Most of the time, these classic and timeless bags are softshell or semi-rigged construction. These bags come in pairs and might hang over your luggage rack, seat, or fender. You will find these saddlebags in leather but these days to enhance the usability and durability of these bags in the rain and sun, these are mostly made out of a marine-grade vinyl or other synthetic.
Tail bags are rectangular-shaped bags that generally fit the rear seat. These are softshell or semi-rigged bags, and their size can be as big as a saddle bag or even larger. These high utility bags come with hardened straps that can be attached to luggage racks or sissy bars or even seats.
Sissy bar bags
Sisy bar bags as the name suggests are attached to the sissy bars of your bike. Hardened straps are used to attach these bags to the back seat or the luggage rack. These bags have high storage capacity.
the tank bags are secured to the tank of your motorcycle via straps or magnets. these bags are very popular among bikers and do not cause any hurdle in your comfort or ability to ride. You can safely keep your valuables in the tank bags as they can be easily removed from the tank when you need to go somewhere. Another added feature some of the modern tank bags have is that it has a section for your GPS, so you can easily navigate to your destination.
Fork Bags and Windshield bags
These are small rectangular pouches that you can put at the center of your handlebars or in front of your forks or can be easily attached to the windshield of your bikes. These bags cover a very limited space and are useful to keep your wallet and other small things.
Hard-shell motorcycle luggage
As the name suggests, the hard-shell motorcycle luggage is made up of robust hard material. These types of motorcycle luggage usually provide more protection and resistance from elements like rain, strong winds, etc. They are also very safe as they come with locks that are hard to open. These bags are solidly or permanently mounted to the bike or the frame that is attached to your bike.
These bags are just like saddlebags, but harder. These are made from lightweight metal construction material or fiberglass.
For daily commuters, the top box is usually a preferred choice. These are mounted to the rear seat, and you could add a side case in case you need to increase the capacity.
