Motorcycle Helmet Quick-Release Buckle

The Eagle Leather Motorcycle Helmet Quick-Release Buckle adds a seatbelt-style fastener to a motorcycle helmet with double D-rings without removing the original D-rings. That means you can click the helmet strap together instead of threading it through the rings every time you ride. It fits straps up to 1 inch wide and includes the buckle hardware and screwdriver needed for installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add a quick-release buckle to a double D-ring motorcycle helmet?

Yes. This buckle attaches to the existing double D-ring system and adds a seatbelt-style connection. The original chin strap and D-rings remain installed.

Will this quick-release buckle fit my helmet?

Compatibility depends on the helmet’s strap system and strap width, not simply the helmet style. It is designed for double D-ring motorcycle helmet straps up to 1 inch wide. It can fit many full-face, modular, open-face, three-quarter and half helmets that meet those requirements.

Do I have to remove the original D-rings?

No. The original double D-rings stay in place. The quick-release hardware attaches to the existing fastening system.

Can I release the buckle while wearing motorcycle gloves?

The red pull tab is designed to provide a larger, easier-to-find release point when wearing gloves. Glove thickness and dexterity can affect how easily any helmet buckle can be operated.

What comes with the helmet quick-release buckle?

The kit includes the quick-release buckle, matching receiver, strap adjustment hardware, installation screwdriver and an Eagle Leather sticker.

How do I check the buckle after installation?

Confirm that the buckle fully engages, remains connected and releases correctly. Make sure the added hardware does not interfere with the helmet’s fit or chin-strap position. Do not use the buckle if it does not engage consistently or interferes with the helmet’s retention system.

Is this quick-release buckle DOT certified?

Eagle Leather does not claim that this aftermarket accessory is DOT certified. It is designed for double D-ring motorcycle helmet straps up to 1 inch wide. Review your helmet manufacturer’s instructions before adding aftermarket hardware.
