When you're on the road, staying connected shouldn't be harder than wrenching on your bike. Whether you've got a full-face, modular, or open-face helmet, your motorcycle comm system installation should be as simple as it is dependable.

Installation Ease: Less Time Tinkering, More Time Riding

The ease of setup varies with your helmet style:

  • Full-Face Helmets and Modulars: Usually the easiest install. Modern helmets often include removable padding and pre-cut speaker pockets. Simply insert speakers, hide wires behind padding, mount the control unit on the side, and you’re good to roll.
  • Open-Face or Half Helmets: Can require creativity since built-in speaker pockets are uncommon. Systems usually come with adapters or adhesive mounts, helping secure your speakers and mic firmly at cruising speeds.

Mic Types: Clear Communication for Any Helmet

Your mic matters, because shouting over engine roar isn't an option:

  • Boom-style Mics: Perfect for open-face and modular helmets. The flexible boom places the mic right near your mouth, capturing clear audio even in high wind.
  • Wired (Button) Mics: Best for full-face helmets. Small and discreet, these mics attach directly inside the chin bar, providing crisp sound without fuss.
  • Hybrid Mics: Often used on Modulars and 3-Quarter helmets, these drop into the helmet via wire first before mounting as a boom mic on the inside. This allows the microphone to remain in front of the rider without interfering with the modular chinbar.

Regardless of your helmet choice, today’s motorcycle communication systems are made with riders in mind—intuitive, straightforward, and ready to ride. Spend less time installing and more time enjoying the open road.
