The HJC i80 Solid is an adventure touring helmet for riders who want a removable peak and the convenience of a modular chin bar. Use the peak for an adventure setup or remove it for a cleaner road profile. Its adjustable internal sun visor, controllable ventilation and washable interior make it a practical choice for commuting and longer touring days.
Shell and Safety
HJC's Advanced Polycarbonate Compound shell blends polycarbonate and ABS to balance impact resistance with manageable weight. Computer-aided development helps refine fit and shell shape. The US i80 meets DOT FMVSS 218 requirements.
Adventure Configuration and Aerodynamics
The rotating chin bar opens for convenient access when stopped. A removable peak lets you adapt the helmet's configuration to your ride. HJC developed the peak using wind-tunnel testing and computational fluid dynamics to improve stability and reduce drag.
Shield and Internal Sun Visor
- The HJ-44 outer shield is Pinlock-ready, scratch-resistant and provides 99% UV protection.
- An HJ-44-compatible Pinlock anti-fog insert is included.
- The HJ-V12 dark-smoke internal sun visor reduces glare and offers an adjustable extension of up to 8 mm.
Retract the tinted sun visor in darkness or poor visibility. Follow HJC's instructions when removing the peak or changing the shield.
Ventilation and Interior Comfort
The Advanced Channeling Ventilation System moves air from front to rear to carry heat and moisture out of the helmet. Top vents and adjustable lower vents let you regulate incoming airflow.
Moisture-wicking fabric and contoured cheek pads support comfort. The crown and cheek pads can be removed for washing, and glasses grooves provide space for eyewear. A chin curtain is included.
Communication Compatibility
The i80 is Bluetooth-compatible. A communication system is sold separately; check mounting and speaker fit with your chosen system before installation.
Color Guide
Matte Black corresponds to HJC's Semi-Flat Black. Sand Beige has a semi-flat finish. The Metalic Blue option uses HJC's Semi-Flat Metallic Blue finish. Gloss Black, White and Nardo Gray offer the remaining solid finishes.

Warranty
HJC covers manufacturing defects for up to three years from purchase or five years from manufacture, whichever comes first, subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms.
Before You Select a Size: Helmet-Fit Facts
A helmet is one of the most important pieces of riding gear you will choose, and the size printed on the label is only a starting point. Head circumference, head shape, crown contact, cheek-pad pressure and the retention system all affect whether a helmet fits correctly. Two helmets marked the same size can fit very differently, even within the same brand.
- Measure around the widest part of your head, keeping the tape level and approximately one inch above your eyebrows.
- A new helmet should feel evenly snug around the entire head without sharp or painful pressure points.
- When you move the helmet gently from side to side, your skin should move with the liner rather than the helmet sliding independently.
- Fasten the retention system and confirm that the helmet cannot roll forward or lift off the head.
- Wear the helmet for several minutes before deciding. Comfort padding may settle with use, but an incorrect shell shape or painful pressure point is unlikely to be solved by choosing blindly.
