72nd Annual Bike Week is Almost Here!
Daytona Beach, FL plays host to hundreds of thousands of riders during Bike Week
The
72nd Annual Bike Week in Daytona Beach, FL is coming March 8th - March
17th. The event has been held since 1937, when Ed Kretz won the
first-ever Daytona 200 race riding an American-made Indian motorcycle.
The race was held on the beach until 1961, when it was moved to Daytona
International Speedway. These days Bike Week is a 10-day festival that
expands throughout Volusia County. There are hundreds of
motorcycle-themed events for riders to enjoy including bike giveaways,
live music, Supercross, and many pub parties.

The

- The Daytona 200
The
AMA Pro Road Racing season kicks off with the 72nd Daytona 200 AMA Pro
GoPro Daytona SportBike motorcycle classic on Saturday, March 16. The
57-lap, 200-mile event will test riders with a grueling and demanding
race on the twists and turns of Daytona International Speedway’s
3.51-mile road course. Motorcycle legends that have captured the Daytona
200 include Scott Russell, Miguel Duhamel, Kenny Roberts, Dick
Klamforth, Brad Andres, Roger Reiman, Mat Mladin and most recently Ben
Bostrom, Josh Herrin, Jason DiSalvo and Joey Pascarella.
- Ride the Loop
It’s
a one-of-a-kind ride. It's sunshine, open road, and freedom. It's
called the Loop and it’s a dream for motorcycle enthusiasts everywhere.
It’s 22 miles long and a must-do during your stay in Daytona Beach.
- Bike Week Treasure Hunt
Participants
will have their Treasure Hunt passports stamped at 7 different
locations throughout Daytona Beach to receive the 2013 Bike Week
Commemorative Coin
- Harley-Davidson Appreciation Parade
The
parade route takes you from Ocean Center South to Daytona International
Speedway. The parade is on 3/16 and participants must be lined up by 7
a.m. for the 9 a.m. start.
