Shell Construction and Protection
Shoei's AIM+ shell combines hand-laid fiberglass with organic and high-performance fibers. Inside, a dual-layer, multi-density EPS liner manages impact energy while incorporating channels for cooling airflow. Four shell sizes help keep the helmet proportionate across the size range. The U.S. RF-1400 is DOT compliant and Snell certified. E.Q.R.S. emergency cheek pad removal helps trained responders remove the helmet when necessary.
Research, Aerodynamics and Noise Control
Shoei developed the RF-1400 through extensive testing in its own wind tunnel. The sculpted shell and integrated spoiler help manage airflow and helmet stability at road speeds. Shield-mounted vortex generators, a close-fitting shield seal, substantial cheek padding and removable ear pads work together to reduce wind noise. Comfort still depends on fit, riding position, motorcycle windscreen and road conditions.

CWR-F2 Shield and Pinlock EVO
The clear CWR-F2 shield combines a two-dimensional outer surface with a three-dimensional inner profile for clear vision with minimal distortion, while filtering 99% of harmful UV rays. Its central lock and spring-loaded base plates pull the shield against the seal. A first-open position allows a small amount of extra airflow, and the quick-release system simplifies shield changes.
An included Pinlock EVO anti-fog insert helps maintain visibility in cool or damp conditions when correctly installed. Use RF-1400-compatible CWR-F2 replacement shields and the corresponding insert. Optional tinted or photochromic shields are sold separately.
Adjustable Ventilation
Six intake openings and four exhaust outlets move air through the EPS channels. The three-position chin vent lets you adjust lower-face airflow, while upper vents and the rear exhaust help release heat. Controls allow you to adapt the airflow as conditions change.
Comfort, Fit and Communication
The removable, washable and replaceable 3D Max-Dry System II interior wicks perspiration and dries quickly. Different cheek pad thicknesses allow fit refinement, and eyeglass channels help accommodate glasses. The liner and cheek pads should hold the helmet securely without painful pressure points.
The Sena SRL-EXT communication system is specifically designed for the RF-1400 and is sold separately. Follow the communication manufacturer's installation instructions when fitting speakers, microphone and mounting hardware.

Size Chart and Measurement
Measure around the widest part of your head, just above the eyebrows and ears, keeping the tape level. Use the chart as a starting point, then try the helmet on with the chin strap secured. It should feel snug all around and move your skin when gently rotated. Check for pressure points and excessive movement before riding.

Size availability varies by finish. Matte Black and Matte Blue Metallic have a low-sheen appearance; Black, White, Brilliant Yellow and Basalt Grey have gloss finishes. Refer to the selected variant for current availability.
Warranty and Care
Shoei's limited warranty covers qualifying defects in materials and workmanship for five years from purchase or seven years from manufacture, whichever comes first, subject to its terms. Keep your purchase receipt. Follow the owner's manual for cleaning, shield adjustment and liner care; accident damage and normal wear are not manufacturing defects.
