Springtime motorcycle riding has a few special hazards to think about. Since so few motorcycles are on the road during the winter, drivers have forgotten whatever motorcycle awareness they had. Protect yourself by riding with your headlight on, wearing bright gear, and being extra defensive.
The road itself can be a real mess in the spring. Not only do potholes abound, but leftover leaf litter can be wet and slippery. You might also run across stray patches of ice. Remnants of sand and salt make the road surface slippery. So, be alert for hazards, leave extra braking space, and take curves more slowly.
