Great tips from Eagle Leather Riding Community Members
Where
are you going this weekend? It's a simple question that can be heard in
nearly any situation across the world. But for riders, the answer seems
somehow richer, more exciting and unparalleled. Because we have the
road!
So when we asked Eagle Leather Community Members what their
favorite rides were, we got some thrilling tips. (See their favorites
on the right).
One that we have heard a bunch about in the stores that was also resounded a few times on Facebook is the Cascade Loop.
A
little online research and you are bound to get excited about getting
out and experiencing the awesome scenic areas on the Loop. Various web
sites describe it as full of majestic mountains and forests, with views
of the vast and all powerful Pacific ocean, rolling farms and orchards,
and various breathtaking lakes and rivers that carve out our great
Northwest.
If you haven't ridden the Cascade Loop before,
different online write-ups put the ride at between 400 to 440 miles,
with activities that are as diverse as the scenery. A quick view of a
map found in the Cascade Loop Scenic Highway Guidebook
shows the trek passing through Everett, Leavenworth, Wenatchee, Lake
Chelan, Pateros, Winthrop, Concrete, La Conner, and Oak Harbor on
Whidbey Island. This is a ride probably best enjoyed over a two to three
day period.
The website "Byways.org"
describes the ride as "thrilling... through the heart of Washington
State." They say: "The byway travels through areas as diverse as they
are magnificent: the salty waters of the Puget Sound, the verdant
foothills of Cascade Mountains' western slope, the peaks of the North
Cascades National Park enclosed in glaciers, and the sun-drenched
expanse of the Columbia River Valley."

biking trails, opportunities for boaters and fisherman, and hundreds of
