Pre-Ride Check Up

Safety Tip of the Week

Testing Your Bike Before a Ride

Okay, you’ve done your pre-ride walkaround and checked for leaks, made sure your tires are properly inflated, and checked your headlights. But you aren’t finished yet. Here are some reminders from that lizard at Geico:

Once you’re seated on your motorcycle, make sure the clutch and throttle work smoothly. The throttle ought to snap back when you release it. Clean all your mirrors and adjust them for best viewing. Test your brakes—front and rear. Brakes should feel firm and should hold the bike still when you apply them fully.

And the fun part: Test the horn. You never know when you might need it.

Stay safe out there!
