Beating The Heat

Bill was an air-conditioner repair man. In the middle of one very busy summer, he pulled up to Mary Ellen’s house. He parked his motorcycle and knocked on the door. Mary Ellen showed him the broken air conditioner, and Bill opened his tool kit.

As he began to work, Bill asked, “How long has the air conditioner been broken?”

“Two weeks,” Mary Ellen answered.

“Why did you wait so long to call me?”

“My in-laws were here and they were planning to stay for a month.”
