Join veterans helping veterans at the 2019 American Lake Run for the Vets on August 17. Meet at the Eagle Leather store in Lakewood at 10:30 for registration. The Ride starts at 11:30. It ends at the American Lake Veterans Domicile on the American Lake Veterans Hospital Campus, 9600 Veterans Drive in Lakewood. There riders will enjoy a barbecue, catered by the Wig Wam Pub. The Wig Wam Pub opened in 2012 near the Naval Shipyard in Bremerton and has gained a reputation for superb barbecue.
The Warborn Motorcycle Club is organizing this Ride annually to support the American Lake Veterans Domicile, the Dom. Veterans who need intense inpatient therapy not only for PTSD, but also for addiction issues live at the Dom during treatment.
The Warborn MC was founded by like-minded veteran motorcycle enthusiasts who wanted to make a real difference in the lives of veterans in need. Members come from different backgrounds but have military service and motorcycling in common. The Club motto is “Veterans Helping Veterans in Need.” To that end, the Club holds fundraisers throughout the state. Here in Tacoma, the annual American Lake Run for the Vets supports the Dom and the veterans who are recovering there.
All vehicles, motorcycle and cars alike, are welcome at the Run. The cost is $15.00 for the rider or driver and $5.00 per passenger. That fee includes the barbecue.
The Warborn MC invites you to “Come out to meet and support those who have given so much for their country!”
